I began my career in 2001 as a pharmacy technician while attending the
University of Georgia. I soon learned how much I loved patient care
so I went on to Mercer University’s Doctor of Pharmacy program for
my graduate degree. In 2005 I graduated and continued my career in pharmacy.
For the past few years I was privileged to serve as the Medication
Safety and Quality Pharmacist at Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta.
As of 2009, I am very happy to say that I am now able to be a part of
this wonderful practice. I have been a part of many teams in the past
and have made many friends along the way; however, this team really
works well together! Everyone here truly cares about each other
and our patients. This caring attitude comes across in all the
little day-to-day interactions that make this practice so special.
It is great to come to work everyday and
really love what you do. I believe that the
patients, staff, and dentist here really make
the work I do so enjoyable.

I began my interest in Dental Hygiene
when I received the privilege to do volunteer
work at Oakwood Smiles for a work-based Learning
program at my high school. I
was able to
observe the hygienists and learn information
that will be beneficial to myfuture. I soon
realized that dental hygiene was a career that I
would seriously pursue.
I am currently working part-time in the front
office as a student of West Hall High
I plan to attend Gainesville State College and
Lanier technical College in the
fall of 2011
to start my Dental Hygiene Major.
I am very proud to say that it has been
a great experience getting to know the dentist,
our staff, and our patients. It is truly a joy
to work with such friendly people who
care about our patients and their health.
Natalie is the youngest of the practice,
joining our group when she was only 16 years
old. She is a fast learner who we feel has a
bright future in dentistry. Now heading
college, Natalie is the kind voice your hear
when you receive your appointment
phone call. These reminder calls lead to one of
our patients to say, “who was
angel that called to remind me of my
appointment” when he came to his

We love Phyllis’s outgoing personality! We
have also decided that it seems that she has
provided dental care for everyone in Northeast
Georgia at some point over the last 30+ years
she has been providing care. She is very active
with The Moose Lodge, with her husband Kenny.
They are often seen performing at local venues
with Phyllis at the Mike and Kenny on his

himself they spend their free time traveling. We
are all very proud of her son, Mac, for serving
and protecting us all as an active service man
of the U.S. Army. Most recently she became a
very proud grandmother of an adorable little

I began my career in the dental field in 1986
and joined this practice in 1994.
What I enjoy most about working in the dental
field is improving people’s smiles along with
their self-confidence, easing patient's dental
phobias, meeting new people and developing their
trust as well as their friendship.
What I enjoy most about this practice is the
ability that we share to work as a team, the
friendship and the fun we have in as well as
outside of the office. This is just a great
place to work!
Shawn is our native “Gainesville-ian.” She
not only grew up here but also married and
raised her son, Trey, in Gainesville. So a lot
of our patients are literally like family to
her. Shawn always has a sweet smile and kind
words for our patients. Whether you are family
or it’s the first time you meet her Shawn is
always very gentle and makes everyone feel at

My career in dentistry began in 2004 in North Carolina. I am passionate about providing the best atmosphere possible for our clientele and being a patient advocate. I have spent many hours with insurance “fighting the good fight” for our patients. Developing relationships and getting to know people is the best part of what I do. I enjoy working in a positive, upbeat environment and that is certainly Oakwood Smiles. I love my job and I love the amazing people I work with!
At home I enjoy reading, knitting and playing with my
granddaughter. My husband and I relocated to this area in 2015 and have found a wonderful home here in north Georgia. We love to camp and explore so this is a perfect area for us.
Abby is just the best! We’re so glad she joined our team when we created a new position in 2016. She has a wonderfully witty personality that brings so much joy to the office! We really enjoy all the laughs her fun personality brings to the office!
