Exceptional dentistry is more than just excellent clinical skills, it's establishing lasting relationships with our patients, based upon mutual trust and open communication. I will take the time to answer all of your questions and provide you with important information regarding your oral health.

I regularly attend continuing education classes to ensure that I provide you with the most advanced dental care using the latest techniques in Advanced Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry. You can have confidence in knowing that you and your family will always receive a level of service and care that not only meets but far exceeds your expectations.

Growing up in Ukraine Dr. Sergey Gritsiv always had an interest in medicine and knew he wanted to help others. In 1994, at the age of 19, he moved to the United States. After working as an assistant at an Oral Surgery office in Atlanta, Dr. Gritsiv, decided that dentistry was one of the best ways he could help others. Dr. G attended Georgia State University for his undergraduate degree. Where he received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biology. He was then accepted to the Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta, the 13th oldest medical school in the nation. At MCG he received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry Degree.

After graduation Dr. Gritsiv worked in a multifaceted dental practice in Atlanta where he honed his professional skills. When it was time to settle and transition into owning a practice, Dr. Gritsiv decided to relocate to the Gainesville area and be part of this growing community. Dr. Gritsiv has made North Georgia his home and values the relationships that he, and his staff, have developed with his patients and realizes that is the key to making dentistry rewarding.

Dr. Gritsiv is a member of the Georgia Dental Association, American Dental Association,

Academy of General Dentistry, Northern District Dental Society, and the Hinman Dental Society. He is committed to continuing his dental education by completing more dentistry courses than is required in order to ensure quality care to his patients.

Community involvement is very important to Dr. Gritsiv and his family. He and his wife have volunteered to visit local schools to help educate students about proper oral hygiene as well as other preventative measures that will teach them how to maintain healthy smiles. He also volunteers at the dental clinic at Good News at Noon. The charity event dearest to Dr. Gritsiv’s heart is his annual “We Care to Make You Smile” contest. This is annual smile makeover contest that is a way for him to give back to the community. Dr. Gritsiv works with his team, our patients, and community members to select one special person that deserves a smile makeover.

When he is not helping his patients at Oakwood Smiles, Dr. Gritsiv enjoys spending time with his family (including his dog, Zha-Zha), watching football, soccer, and hockey. He and his wife get the most joy from spending time with their daughter, Riley.
